The information in that signal boost is not up to date.

The ISP or at least most ISPs are not launching the program on July 1.

While I think the attempt to stop it is valiant, unless someone successfully sues for privacy infringement or something along those lines, I don't think anything can stop it. No one passed a law that says they have to do this. In fact, Google has been defending the law that allows them and encourages them not to monitor. The ISPs essentially are giving up a right by doing this.

This is seriously going to suck for fandom.

It sounds impressive, but the reality is that it's a horrible legal morass for the ISPs, and record keeping and proving anything will be a nightmare. To a large extent they're bluffing, and hoping that they won't have to open up this can of worms and try to prove this against someone who knows the technology and is prepared to fight ( ... )

I got a warning just last week from my ISP provider. I downloaded a Marvel product and they jumped right on me within a day telling me that if I didn't delete it and if I downloaded off limits stuff too many times, I'd get cut off. And it's not even July.
