So in other non-MY STOMACH IS TRYING TO KILL ME news, I decided to try reading Neon Exodus Evangelion again. I don't know why. The last time I tried, I stopped midway through out of a mixture of disgust and boredom. I also don't know why the TV Tropes page for it is so glowing. AHHAHAHAHAHAH i read a MST of that years ago and it is still one of my favorite Worst Fics Ever. it is one outrageously stupid idea after another and just when you think it can't get any worse, BOOM you learn something about DJ that makes a sane person want to PUNCH BABIES in RAGE.

and ahahahaha that tvtropes page. that also makes me want to punch babies.

JKSDFDJGFKJG ME TOO. That's how I originally discovered it, actually! If it's the same one I read, they stopped after the second to last episode of the first "season," so at some point I was like I HATE MYSELF SO I GUESS I'LL JUST READ THE REST OF THE FIC WITHOUT ANY SORT OF MST BUFFER.

Yeah that. That did not work out.

But yeah, it is AWFUL. And, worse than just being awful--it's pretentious about its terribleness, too. It oscillates wildly between rage-inducing and boring and it just... Having gone back to it later, it really jumped out at me how certain aspects of the writing are so bad. The filler details, the pointlessly long descriptions of DJ's exact actions, the abuse of semi-colons and complex compound sentences (NOTE TO AUTHOR: USING THEM CONSTANTLY DOES NOT MAKE YOU LOOK SMART)... The whole thing is just dire.

And I think I might tally up every notable ability DJ has as I go through it this time. Because, Jesus, it's only Chapter 4 and I want to smack the author for making him a ridiculously talented uberkid.
