G: Good morning! Good morning! Ready for Elevenses?
R: Ack! The light, it burns! Is there coffee?
L: That bitter beacon of burnt bean broth? Over there. I’ll stick with my usual pancakes & nectar, hold the pancakes.
G: I made a nice coffee cake while I was in the kitchen anyway for second breakfast. Your nectar is in the cabinet. Do I need to brew fresh coffee?
R: *slurp* Need more. Fresh & hot would help. Is there bacon?
L: I just finished the nectar and put it on the list. I need a shower. Work was busy and I’ve pollen all over me. I hate spring.
A: Don’t dis spring. Isn’t it a beautiful day? I’m heading out to sunbathe and swipe right. Ooh, look at the stems on this one. You know what they say about the length of the stem.
L: I thought it was the size of the leaves. Enjoy your flirting. *yawn*
G: Are you alive yet? What did you think of my cake?
R: Needs more creamy filling. This coffee is better. Where did you put my project notes? They were right here on the table last night.
G: You mean the mess you left all over the only horizontal space in this kitchen? I scanned them into your computer and added them to your shred pile. I don’t see why you need to keep these scribbles.
R: These scribbles, as you call them, are for your remodel. You know I need to compare the scans to the originals before I shred anything. If you want this kitchen up to your standards, you need to baby me.
G: I don’t know why I bother. I’m the only one who appreciates a good buffet these days. I’m going out to garden before the rain comes.
R: Alone at last. *tappity tap* Caffeine and sugar. *slurp* The only way to start the day.
This conversation was a glimpse into a typical morning at Cabin of a Few. Look forward to more intelligible conversations to come.
