Our Christmas card this year...
(inside of card)
Hello everyone!! Remember me?!? It’s Evie Bea!!
So this year I got an upgrade!! As many of you know, last year I was a
stocking stuffer. This year I got to dress up as Little Ms. Santa Claus. Last year Mama took something like 80 photos of me while I layed there like a pink sausage, but this year Mama only took about 15 photos before she sighed and gave up. I kept throwing the Christmas tree bulbs on the ground and I wouldn’t sit still (How can one sit still? There’s just so much to do!!!) But despite not cooperating, Mama got what she calls “the one”. I hope you like it!!
This has been a big year for me. In January I said my first words to Dada. He was getting me ready for bed and out of my mouth burst the words, “Night night!!” Dada did the monkey dance and was beside himself with glee. Mama likes to say that my “real” first word was Mom which I said for the first time in March. Little do they know that I’ve been having conversations with the cat since my first month here. I say things to her like, “Hey KiKi… let’s order a pizza.” or “Wanna help me make a mess?”
I started crawling at the end of July and have learned how to “get into” all sorts of things. My favorite is the cat’s food dish!! I like to take KiKi’s kibbles and put them into her water bowl. Watching the kibbles float is great fun!! I even sat in the cat’s water dish once to see if I would float, but my butt just sank and then Mama shook her head and had to change my diaper.
Just last week I stood up on my own for the first time with no help!! I was only able to do it for a few seconds before that strange thing called gravy brought me back to the ground. I‘ve never been so excited in my whole life!! I was laughin’ and gigglin’ and when I saw how excited Mama got, I tried again and again. It was super fun!!
My belly has grown up and I like to eat all sorts of solid food now. Dada tried to feed me mashed toes with gravy once, but I spit them out and watched as they fell to the ground… that gravy sure works good!! I like all sorts of other things though such as yogurt, bananas, green beans, oranges, pears, chicken, and turkey… “Mmmmmmm”. But the things that aren’t so “Mmmmmmm” I throw on the floor and sometimes Kiki goes nuts and gets her vacuum out. Recently I got this cute idea that I would take the food that I don’t like and put it next to me on the seat of my high chair. You should’ve heard Mama the other day. She was so excited when she thought that I ate cooked onions. There she was all proud and going Wowwwwww!!! When I was done eating, she cleaned me up, brushed my teeth (I have 12 now!! And 2 new ones coming in!!), picked me up out of my high chair... and found onions stuck to my bum. I thought it was really funny, but Mama just sighed and pulled onions off my diapered tush.
The other things I like to do are: Sit on the cat; Take things from drawers and containers and throw them all over the floor; Scribble on the bath wall with crayons while saying, “Whhhoooaaaaaa!”; Give people hugs with my forehead; Sing Niiighhhtt Niiggghttttt!! with my Da; Say the word “Happy” 60 times in a row; Giggle; Point at belly buttons and say BeBe; Point at things and say, “Deeee?!?”, while Mama or Dada try to figure out what it is that I want. And just when they think they’ve figured it out, I change things up a bit and point elsewhere while saying “Gheeee?!?”; Say Bye Bye to everyone even if they’re not leaving.
Speaking of Bye Bye… it’s time to go sit on the cat and repeat Happy Happy Happy Happy. Thank you to all of Da and Ma’s family & friends for being such wonderful presents in our life, and love to all the babies and kids that I’m so excited to call my friends. It’s a beautiful life!!
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good Night Night!!
