Hero and spacktard in the same weekend
My parents had a party last night, they'd set up a table in the garage and all, with those stupid paper lanterns that are obligatory at crayfish parties. Ever since I first saw one on fire as a kid, I've been wary. However, neither Magnus nor my sister-in-law believed they actually do catch fire, that it's just an urban legend that paper lanterns with candles inside them would catch fire.
So I was the first one to take action when the flames started licking the ceiling and I realized my parents had put lots of little fires IN A GARAGE without a fire extinguisher or even a bucket of water. Luckily I'd brought a big bottle of mineral water from the kitchen, so I sprayed that all over the flames, which went out like nothing, and I then stamped on the embers of both that lantern and another one, that was just starting to burn.
I'm also the only one who's been to both first aid and fire emergency classes, so I'm well proud of myself!
Then we were dragged down the pub on our way home today, and had dinner and beer.........and after leaving, a phone call about not having paid the bill! Dammit, never give me food without making me pay there and then, because I WILL forget to pay.......
