An journal worthy story.

So, for the longest time (year or so) I've been complaining that the city lights really drown out the stars at night. And as time has gone on, I've bemoaned it more and more often as my constellations become harder to pick out. Lately with the driving thing and actually paying attention to street signs, it's been tricky for me to read them from a distance, which I figure is normal, especially as I generally end up looking at the farther away one. However, last night, I brought up while I was in the car with mom that I think my eyes have been getting worse (which is odd as I've always had 20/20 vision) and she says she'll have to let me try on her glasses to see if anything improves at all. Well during the day looking at trees, I really couldn't tell, especially as they were sungalsses and any improvement could simply be due to new contrasts. That night however, on the way home from poker, she tels me to try on her clear ones and look at the stars. I do, and holy shit. All the stars got so much brighter and sharper, and all of a sudden stars that I didn't even know where there just appeared. I mean, I'm looking at a very small patch of sky with like 2 stars in it, I put on her glasses, and all of a sudden, there are 5.

So, I'm getting glasses.
