I've never been so fascinated by an election. The fact that I'm teaching a class on US history this semester, and that I have to explain the core and history of American values to my students completely resonated with one of the most exciting and intense campaigns I've ever seen.
This is the America that I know, and it's finally there for the whole world to see. Hopefully I'm done with having to convince people (narrow-minded European acquaintances of mine) that America is far from being a country full of rednecks. Well. Not you, Sarah Palin. You're a freak. (did you notice that she was booed by half of the audience during McCain's speech or did I dream that?)
