Service is an overflow of my love for God.
What is love? God loved me first, therefore I am capable of loving. I give and receive varying levels of love. My life is a testament of God’s love because He made me in His image and likeness…just like you. Isn’t that awesome? Under this thought, I am enabled to love just as God loves me. Yes, this is awesome. My service in our community is my way of showing God I love Him. I know there are other ways but, it is a regular venue which I am blessed with.
Service is a sacred privilege.
I often hear that “We are called to serve because of our availability and not our ability.” God knows the condition of our hearts and He always tests us. No bible hero escaped His test otherwise he wouldn’t be a hero in the first place, LoL. Even Jesus was allowed to be tempted by Satan. He is a jealous God and He will see to it that in every circumstance, in every choice we make, we choose Him. Therefore, being called to service for me is not an option, it is a blessing, God’s favor that comes to those few who God sees as “able” and it is no joke or something to be taken lightly because it is SERVICE TO GOD.
Every service is a once-in-a-lifetime ride with God.
It is a totally new experience every time I serve Him. It is something worth sharing because it is an experience with Him, the King of Kings whose magnificence is eternal and beyond words. But the condition of my heart, sometimes, if too overwhelming affects my service and I always check the area where I “failed” for every experience. If ever it gets boring, it will always be because of a choice I made. I chose to make it as such. By His grace, I can manage to get back on track. God will also see to it that His servants make it to every finish line
The call to service is not a choice to be turned away but a blessing to be kept because it honors God.
This call is a blessing in itself because being "chosen" is abounding grace. My life in service I consider the call to service as God breathing down fresh wind on me, calling me to a deeper relationship with Him. I look forward to service calls because amazingly, it instantly lifts me from whatever mire I am in. It keeps me closer to Him who calls me.
Service is a lifestyle. A servant is a servant 24/7.
Ad majorem Dei gloriam.
