A Tribute to My Babies

I have been wanting to write you
But time did not allow me to do so
The past week was so full of things to do
And now, I have time in my hands just for you
This will be an expression of my gratefulness
For the times you chose to spend with me
Those hours and days when Joey was not around
It was you who held me up and saw me through
I cannot stop thanking God for you
My Love, My Baby Girl and My Baby
For the gift of friendship and Ohana
For the sincerity of your love for me
I am grateful everyday
If only I can write you each day
On your walls or text you my gratefulness
No space will be enough for me to fill
I have written you many times
I have expressed my gratefulness
In various forms but there will
Never be enough room for what’s in my heart
God has been good to me
For this blessing of a beautiful life with you
For the year we learned life’s ropes
Together we stood strong and united
Thank you for hearing my stories
Thank you for sharing your lives with me
Thank you for keeping me happy
During those moments when tailspins hit me

Your joy and humility, I will always take with me
Through difficulties that will come my way

Baby Girl, your constancy is my pillar of strength
You have always been there for me
Keeping in touch was always important

For the privilege of loving you as my son

Happened differently because
We have become who we are by choosing Ohana
Your love was so solid that I held on to it

The laughter and good times make up
Memories that could last me a lifetime
Your support for me and Joey
Was enormously overwhelming
That we felt loved ALL THE TIME
You are God’s gift to us - blessings personified
This is the least I can do

To God and to you
For your great love that held me through
A colourful life was what I had with you
Love, trials, pain, joy, harmony
All in one year, a lesson of how much
God loves me
For God will not waste His time
Teaching us these things
If He doesn’t love us
Lessons are His blessings for us to live a better life
As we embark on another year of favour
May the lessons be our guide
To be the children God intended us to be
His grace is always sufficient for us
Seasons change and so will we
Like a normal family, we have grown and lived well
And now we are armed with life’s wisdom
Thus, we are already independent
We may not see one another as often as we do
Because that’s how we have grown
From being dependent, to independent
To being Inter-dependent, this is healthy & normal
Once again, thank you for this beautiful life
I am looking forward for more times with you
