Semi-Precious Weapons
Another Saturday night, another concert.
Semi-Precious Weapons at Velvet Underground. Third time I've seen them there. Last time, the boy was opening for them and there was much jager and bad judgment. Last thing I remember from that night is getting a phone number from the drummer and crying outside the Horseshoe tavern.
That was more than a month ago. Last night, I decided, was to be jagger-free. After a sos-so set by Machetes and a fucking great set by The Delinquints, SPW took the stage. They have a new guitarist and he turned out to be fantastic, although he does look like David Spade/Dana Carvey. Second song was an anthem to glam rock party girls called That's Kunt. Singer looks at the crowd, spots us and recognizes us from past shows and gives us a "Look, it's those kunts" intro into the song.
