I can actually picture Tom Riddle acting exactly like this! Well done!

LOL, also I think that Malfoy must have used some sort of zamboni charm on the lake, because my recollections of skating on my grandparents pond are dominated by the jarring bumping around on rough ice, probably resulting in brain damage. ;) I think Tom would have been in an even fouler temper if that would have happened.

This is...rather surprisingly brilliant. Surprising because I just didn't expect to really enjoy anything with from Tom's perspective (I'm not much of a fan of the villains), and yet this was both funny and amazingly canon. I, too, can see Tom acting in just exactly this way in this situation, and his strange, twisted friendship with Abraxas is so in character with everything we see in Voldemort later in life.

Abraxas in particular makes this fic for me. He clearly has a bit of a sense of humor to him (buying Tom ice skates for Christmas! Of all things!) and I love the way he's a bit defiant and still so totally loyal. I pretty much snickered through the whole second half of this. It's just...there are no words. Except for this: You are a genius. ^_^

I feel like an idiot because I very much thought that I had commented on this fic. Major fail. You wrote exactly what I had in mind!! I love that you wrote Tom as actually enjoying ice skating even though he was skeptical about it...but he still very much himself as he goes about enjoying himself. And adding Malfoy was pure gold. :)
