Christmas eve, and i'm working...... but it's only for boxing day set up. I have to say, this new job is completely working out for me.
I'd also like to announce for the first time since i was 16 am i experiencing boxing day as a shopper rather than as a clerk! It's the MOST DREADED day of the retail year and some how I have gotten out of it. Don't ask me how, i'm still stunned.
I'm spending tonight at home as i've been flu-ing it up for the last week or so on day and night time flu meds. Two weeks ago it was an outer ear infection, now this. Merry Crackmas indeed. It's given me a wonderful amount of time to listen to some new bands though.
Current favorites are: Seabird ( probably one of the greatest unsigned bands i've heard all year!), He Is We,and Let's Get It
As for Matt Good- The show was AMAZING. It was the final day of the tour and so shenanigans where in full effect as a massive choreographed football toss game took place during the openers' set. It was awesome.
Mother Mother opened the gig, which i had no idea of until i looked at the ticket that leah had been keeping from me. For those of you out there who know i love this band to begin with will imagine the pile of goo that i turned into when i congratulated the band on their great set at intermission. Lead guitarist = melty. :P
Of course Mother Mother got Matt back by coming in for a super dance sequence during one of his songs. Brilliant. Showmanship kinda went out the window, but i like that about last day shows- its so much more intimate and organic.
I had to wait until the 23rd this year to get paid, so gift giving was super fun this year :P Not! but it did brush up my skills at window shopping.
Thanks Kyle for getting my computer up and running again, not just running, sprinting.
I'll probably be back on tonight after work, with a christmas/holiday playlist i have been working on for the ol' pod.
