For these past two years, I've never been so annoyed with my own fandom as I am now.
Yes, I'm a SHINee fan. I'm the immature and delusional type of fan who ship Minho-Taemin relationship, who dream of moving to Seoul and be their manager someday, who am sad when SHINee's losing on music show or annual awards.
but yes, I'm REALISTIC enough with their condition and position in South Korea!
Today they're losing to Lee Hi on Inkigayo, which is predictable for me! I mean, oh please, we all know her digital sales is pretty high for a rookie and we all know that digital sales contributes 50-60% to the rank.
Even though I've had my own prediction, it didn't stop me from supporting them. I did tweeting a lot to trend Dream Girl and watched Dream Girl's music video countless times. All of us did our best to support them, I know it for sure. Yet, the result said that Lee Hi was the winner of this week and I am SAD of it.
I know many of us were sad, disappointed, etc with the result and I won't say something like 'don't be sad' because it's human's right to be sad or happy or gloomy, who am I telling you not to be sad or disappointed? yet, many always say 'don't be sad' in annoying way. I know they're trying to lighten up the mood but in my humble opinion, they better look for a better way to do that. Telling people what they should or shouldn't feel isn't helping much, especially when they're down.
That is the first thing from my fandom that annoys me but I keep it bottled up because... just because. hehe.
After that, usually the mood will be back to normal and people will start spazzing about their performances and perhaps favourite couple moments, too. But today, I find some of us start speculating about today's winner and also the charting system (both Inkigayo and Music Bank because we also lose on Music Bank).
From there, I feel this urge to post something about this because it's just annoying to see them act like that.
Do they not know that SHINee's digital sales IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH? I mean, yeah, we got all kill on Sherlock and now Dream Girl but it doesn't last long, just in one or two days the song will drop from the top and keep on dropping as the day passes by, unlike some other artists who manage to top the charts for weeks or at least stay on top 10 for several weeks after the release date.
That's why we're losing to Lee Hi, 2AM, and Sistar19!!! unless we all do something with their digital sales (like making a streaming project), please let's just be positive. Are we going to blame the charting systems every time SHINee lose? why don't we do something with their digital sales instead of blaming the chart or judging the winner? something like helping international fans who do not have paypal and who do not understand korean to buy digitally?
I think that way will help SHINee more on music shows xD but as far as I know, fans love to buy multiple copies of the physical album than download it from korean site even just for once. so yeah, I think I need to find a way too stand negative comments.
