So...
I am an "underrepresented minority" and as such the University of Chicago is flying me out in April. This poses a small problem as we have already paid for my ticket, but this will be remedied by a friendly reimbursement from the school. Apparently I'm the only person they're doing this for, which makes me think that my ethnicity had a lot more to do with my acceptance than my personality, and also with the amount of money I'm getting from them. The only reason this really bothers me--I know they wouldn't have let me in just because I'm mixed if I had come off as unintelligent, right?--is because it seems that a lot of my friends-all anglo- aren't being accepted to their school of choice, and I refuse to believe it has anything to do with their intelligence or lack thereof.
But hey, I'm happy.
