Day 2, Hanoi, Vietnam, Dec 27, Monday, 1809hrs GMT+7
So far the trip has been rather eventful, I find myself shooting a lot, trying my best to learn the ropes of photography as a complete freshie. Bearing in mind the rule of thirds, framing my subject, being aware of the background, trying to create contrast, use lines, lighting and space etc. It's not easy, and I have few, if any, shots worth showing and being happy about, but I still try. Taking time of from home has been therapeutic, forgetting that I would've been in camp today if I were not on leave. The temperature outside has been just about 14-15ish, cool enough for me to walk out in t-shirt and shorts. I see many eye-opening sights everywhere I go, amongst the people of Vietnam. They enjoy sitting by the roadside on stools, smoking, eating and drinking. They tend to have an acute eye for tourists too, and rush to hawker their bananas, grapes, sweet potatoes and other merchandise. Tomorrow, I leave for Ha Long Bay, another new place, another environment to shoot, another new challenge.
It's dinner and I'm hungry.
