First, I'm ridiculously excited I get to leave the first review. Second, the whole chap. was wonderful and I thought the story for each of Dave's marriages worked very well but my favorite part was Emily's confession and Father Frank's reaction; I laughed as hard as Father Frank!

I actually had a lot more planned about Dave's marriages, but never figured out how to do it in a realistic, in-character way.

Anyway, I am delighted you enjoyed the chapter. I do appreciate the kind words. And I really have to give smittywing a lot of the credit for the confession scene...she suggested it and both she and smacky30 egged me on.

This chapter made my heart ache. Meeting Maria and hearing her story, and Dave's guilt, it was so painful. And the way he's so clearly afraid to screw up what he and Emily have, and how Emily so totally doesn't get what he's really trying to tell her... It made my heart hurt, but in the best way. He loves her so much, and she just doesn't understand, and she loves him and he can't see how he deserves that

When everything is said and done, I think that is why Dave is being so slow and careful. He doesn't want to mess it up, it's just too important.
