Air Travel

Denver International Airport (DIA/DEN) is your best option. Flying into Colorado Springs is an option, but then you will have another 100 miles or so to drive into downtown Denver. Between the gas money, travel time, and a potential rental car - I would not recommend it, unless it saves you $500 per person, and maybe not even then.  The road between Colorado Springs and Denver is one of the most dangerous in the country during winter storms.

Frontier Airlines is also based out of Denver - taking up a huge chunk of DIA. I recommend watching their webpage for special deals!  www.frontierairlines.com/

Transportation in Denver

The bus system is one of the best in the country! Over several years it was even given the distinction of being the best. For some places, traveling by light rail is also an option. RTD runs both services. I recommend using public transport where ever possible. Both parking and gas are expensive!

Rental cars are available in scores at DIA if you are flying in. (Deals are available with Frontier Airlines!)

Things to do, see, and eat in Denver and the surrounding areas

Some activities and places will be restricted by weather in Colorado which, especially in March, is unpredictable at best. Driving could be dangerous if there is the occasional March blizzard. Planes could be delayed or canceled - please give yourself enough time to accommodate changes in travel plans.

Coloradans are into sports, running, hiking, biking, fine arts (both visual and performance), amazing live music in small venues, comedy, and (mostly Boulderites and Denverites) activism. Or anything else to keep yourself warm when it is cold most of the year. Activities in the city have a lot to do with one of these genres. The places below are located in Denver, Boulder or Colorado Springs for the most part.
