AUGH!!!! I HATE EVERYTHING!!!
I posted this today after reading a small tidbit from Hobbit_maiden's journal entry from a while back... I need to launch some venom, and while this seems like a trivial example, it is a perfect one.
"I asked why we weren't launching our own and they explained that no one had ever actually gotten [random LJ user] to assist them in designing one. When I asked him on Sunday why this was, he said he had never been asked."
This is a symptomatic example of something, actually two things, I am so sick of dealing with. One, people should never be held accountable for things, trivial or no, that they had no prior knowledge or involvement in. What the fuck? I mean really - this goes from telling (or not telling) someone they have body odor, to telling them *why* you are angry, to wanting help from someone to get something done. If you don't actually tell a person what is going on inside that thick skull of yours - don't ever, EVER, EVER-FUCKING EXPECT THEM TO KNOW THE REASON YOU ARE ACTING LIKE AN ASS, OR BEING ANGRY OR FUSSY FOR NOT GET WHAT YOU DAMN-WELL WANT FROM THEM. Nor should you voice displeasure at the situation to me. I am so sick of hearing such juvenile sentiments that I want to scream.
Second - Why does the fact that someone else cannot assist you preclude you from personally participating. Pull your head out and fucking do it yourself. Suck it up and get it done if you want it so damn badly. I watched my mother, for most of my life, wait and wait and wait for help and expect help from people who were not able to, not capable of, not willing to or never-knowing she needed help. If she had ever gone about doing it herself, she would have had so much more. Stop letting fear, apathy, and the desire to self-victimize rule what you do and do not do in life. Be self-accountable. Fuck-passive aggressive. Stop being hurtfully trite and catty behind someone's back. Tell people how you really feel.
At moments when I am at rather less than my normal level of patience, which is at best a very small amount, I loathe dealing with people wanting to change or achieve something that they are unwilling to do the work for. Whether it is improve their quality of life, change something about themselves, or attain something they feel of value - don't expect anyone to give it to you. Do it your damn self. No choice is easy but for the love of god - if you want something, fucking do it.
