Inauspicious start
Bad sign 1: BA claimed they couldn´t check us in all the way to Lima, only as far as Madrid.
Bad sign 2: Iberian staff there spent forever looking at terminal screens when we tried to check in.
Outcome: We are in Madrid overnight as the Lima flight was overbooked as were all the alternative routes via Bogata, Caracas etc., along with at least 4 other people we know of. At least they gave us a €300/head sweetener...
Scary thing is tomorrow´s flight is full enough my sister and I don´t have adjacent seats! What a way to run an airline...
Interesting thing: one of the people we met is a colleague of a friend. Small world, huh?
