Back together again...

Well, from months between posts to weeks to days. Guess that's heading in the right direction.

I'm now happily reunited with the N97. Took it to Carphone Warehouse at Tottenham Court Road on Friday. The staff there openly told me that they'd have to charge me some £120 to fix the screen, that it simply wasn't worth it and that I should try one of the independent stores! Sure enough, not only did the first one I walked into quote me £65, they said they'd have it done in an hour. And they did!

Saturday - did another run to the Big Yellow with aeshna_uk before attending another of the filk thingies up at the local archery club. On the way, I got a voicemail to tell me that the Skoda is now likely to arrive in about 2 1/2 weeks rather than in Jan/Feb! Suspicious side of me wonders if that was always the likely delivery time but kept in reserve to provide the customer with some unexpected good news....

Speaking of paranoia, does anyone else find it interesting that, just after the Chairman of BA starts saying much of airport security is security theatre and kowtowing to the US and has lots of people starting to agree with him, this new air bomb plot emerges and, suddenly, all talk of re-examining airport security is gone again?

Sunday - headed up to Coventry for a Redemption hotel visit. All I will say is that I haven't missed the M6 or the M1 roadworks one little bit!

Coming up this weekend - Rawdons are doing musket fire as part of the Bonfire Night activities at Waltham Abbey/Royal Gunpowder Mills and I have an invite. Woohoo! One last chance to fire the muskets this year!
