standing on the edge of summer.
greenday was really amazing. it's weird, i had this preconception that i'd be writing about it saying, 'taking back sunday were amazing (yeah, fuck greenday)'. but no way. taking back sunday didn't really belong there, i don't think. but greenday were really great. they got three people on stage to play for them (drummer, bassist, guitarist; obviously). so the drummer was great. bassist was good. the guitarist? fucking wank. and the TWAT got to keep the guitar. there is no justice, seriously, none. and even though i had a migraine building all through from the heat, it was really great. they covered shout and we are the champions, and then after the encore.. they did that whole suspense-before-t-final-song thing. so me and maddie are standing there, linked fingers, going, 'play ittt..fucking play it'. and he did. and i swear i have never been so ecstatic to hear the opening chords to good riddance before in my life. we actually had a spaz out hug thing.
i honestly can't imagine. i mean, it was so amazing standing there and hearing sixty five thousand people singing basketcase and good riddance. for me. so i honestly, really, truly can't imagine what it must be like for them. i'd probably break down if i was on a stage facing that many people, and hearing every single one of them singing the words of MY song back at me.
