Haul!

I went to Marden's yesterday and and there were two tables of discount cosmetics and when I see discount cosmetics, I always have to go through them. There is always tons of crap, but I can usually find a hip eyeshadow duo if I'm lucky or something like that. Over 90% of their stock was from Target, and the good stuff from Target. It was all Sonia Kashuk, Jemma Kidd, NP, and some Pixi. How in the world, I don't know. What makes me sad is that they had the nice $20 palettes ($13 there) and they were all ripped apart so nobody was going to buy them. Anyway I got a concealer quad, a hip duo (shady), some fake eyelashes (need glue) and NAILTIQUE!

I was actually talking about this the day I went! I have always had such thin nails and as soon as they grow out, they flake apart. If I keep up with cuticle oil and lotions when they grow out a little bit, the corners break off because they flake really bad there. They are perpetually rounded and generally dry. Anyway, I have heard that people are really successful with the Nailtique formula 2 stuff. It's 18 or bucks and I found it at the bottom of a Marden's bin for $2. It's almost as if I willed it to happen! I almost peed my pants. Of all things to find. It's supposed to be hydrolyzed protiens that go and bond your nail layers together so no more peeling/flaking.

Anyway, I would loooooove to go back to Marden's when they reduce that stuff down again. A lot of it is still too pricy for me on a general shopping day out. There's just something about clawing through clearance bins of makeup. The "keep" pile, rather the "I don't want other customers to touch my kill" pile. The magenta lipstick that always gets under your fingernails (why is it always the same color?). The nail polish stains at bottom of the containers. The glassy, rattling passes as you dig, dig, dig because you know what you are looking for this whole time could be right there waiting. Not the way you open, but the way you carefully put the item back in its packaging.

Ahh, makeup.
