Well, wrote this for
chihana11 and
talentina38111 but just in case anyone else is interested.
Action:
- Two weeks with Lee Jun Ki. Very good, well written and fast paced. He's a low life that gets framed and has to prove his innocence and voilá, he has a brain. And a little kid he did not know he had. Plus, it's Lee Jun Ki, he's GORGEOUS! Much better than Yoochun's Three Days. Has a great song by Nell.
- City Hunter with Lee Min Ho. Very chic and great action scenes. Press fast forward when the girl does the cry over parents cliché and when they turn Noble Idiots and you'll be fine. He's GORGEOUS in this drama, by the way. Nice song as well.
- Return of Iljimae with Jung Il Woo. He sports long hair, so... you guessed it: GORGEOUS. Lots of action. Historic but not overly heavy. A more mature and believable relationship - they actually have sex!
Note: All three suffer from the last episode curse. Ending can be a little unsatisfying, less so for Iljimae. But does not take away the shine from previous episodes.
Funny romance with hints of let's cry:
- Flower Boy Ramyun Shop with Jung Il Woo. He's annoying in this one and yet adorable too. There's an egg scene that is amazing!!!! Oh, and a sexy kimchi scene. And another sexy kiss. This height joke scene. Even if you hate that she ends up with the less deserving guy trope, this is a fun drama. And in the end it's not a damsel in distress... wink, wink.
- My Girlfriend is a Gumiho with Lee Seung Gi and Shin Min Ah (yes, I'm naming an actress). Bonus: No Min Woo when he was still GORGEOUS. Fun and with moments that will make you cry. Beware of how episode 4 ends. Both me and hubby washed our faces. But it is also fun and very carefree most of the time. A must see drama. Hubby was listening to the songs for some time after, lol.
- Arang and the Magistrate with Lee Jun Ki and Shin Min Ah (hey, I like her). Historical and supernatural mixed together plus romance and action. And funny too. Let me hold ths drama and look at how pretty it is.
- My Love from the Star with Kim Soo Hyun. Yep, he's GORGEOUS. Love the actress in this one too. You simply have to see this drama. Have to.
- Sungkyunkwan Scandal with our darling Yoochun. Gorgeous, funny, with action. Just yes.
- Rooftop Prince with Yoochun again. Gorgeous, funny, funny, funny and yes again.
Notable mentions:
- I Can Hear Your Voice with Lee Jong Suk and Oska and I like the actress too. Very good.
- Anything with Kim Jaejoong because... Jaejoong. Protect the Boss might still be the best one for the comedy moments, just fast forward the other guy. Oh, and check Heaven's Postman. Gorgeous.
- You're Beautiful for the pretty boys, the music and the over the top comedy.
- Personal Taste with Lee Min Ho and the ugly duckling trope and living together trope.
- Gu Family Book. This time Lee Seung Gi is the Gumiho.
- K-Pop The Ultimate Audition with Park Yu-hwan. Yes, Yoochun's little brother. Sadly the drama was cancelled midway.
- 49 Days cause there has to be one to cry from beginning to end. You just need to survive getting used to the lead girl and you get the bonus of Jung Il Woo.
- Secret Garden. The ladys already saw this one but has to be included.
- The King 2 Hearts. Korea has a king who must marry.
- My Girl. An oldie that is quite known. Full of tropes.
Oh, and...
- Full House with Rain, a classic oldie so you can hit the screen at one scene that still makes me foam at the mouth. Living together, fake marriage, all the tropes.
- My Playfull Kiss for the tropes and why does she like him???
- Boys Over Flowers cause it's just so campy and over the top and you hit the screen several times. Story blows your brain to pieces. Hums almost paaaaaaaaradise. Seriously, go check that song. Almost paaaaaaaaaaradise....lalalalalalala...
I'm probably forgetting a few. Feel free to suggest more.
I know there are several from Jung Il Woo, Lee Jun Ki and Lee Min Ho. What can I say? As soon as I found a drama I liked I used to go check that actor's other work. Still a good method if you ask me. ;)
