Back from Whitby, which was awesome. There were famous people and everything, which was disconcerting. The Hammer alumni are lovely to a tee. Splurged on random stuff on sale - a DVD, a steampunk anthology and a Hammer mug (and a Hammer t-shirt, though that was because I'd miscalculated in terms of packing!) amongst others. Have loads of signed promo material from the up-and-coming directors there. Met tons of awesome people who I am now failing to find on facebook, and I absolutely have to recommend
Major Jack Union's twitter feed, and the
Lancaster Millenium Choir's adaptation of the 1930s Frankenstein. I'll do a write up on
the writing blog soonish, including reviews of the films I caught.
I've also just ordered business cards, because enough people asked I felt kinda bad. Though I did give some people my website links, so I guess that counts as networking? The Inland Revenue sent me a leaflet on how to find out about self-employment seminars in my area, so I could always ask them if I could write the tax off!
