I'm writing up my NCAA tournament preview, as requested by several of you, as dialogue between Dan Rydell and Casey McCall. Someone shoot me in the head. I am the biggest dork ever

Ebay is more of a time suck than I dare to admit. I'll go in looking for one thing to actually buy and then spend hours clicking near randomly, surfing through people's virtual garage sales, snickering at the descriptions, appalled at the prices for complete and total junk. I don't often buy (in fact, I very seldom actually buy anything) but I surf.
Coming Attractions, which has clearly radically changed since I used to play on it at work. It was once Corona.bc.ca but now it seems to be cinescape-something. They must have been bought out. Now I'm hesitant to mention it, because I don't know much of what they are doing now, but once upon a time (three years ago) they were a civilized version of Harry Knowles Ain't It Cool News, fewer trolls and people chiming in with bits of rumor and gossip about films in production. When Dallas still had a film commision, I was able to supply some bits about local productions.
PBS kids and the Kid's WB websites. I have a four year old. 'Nuff said. I'm thinking I'm going to be the only one in this thread with these sites.
And since my comptuer time at home is limited to when neither boy is on, the rest are reading sites, either actual reading like the Gutenberg project or eBooks, or blogs that aren't on LJ Feed, like Johnette Napalitano's tour diary or rec pages like Polyamorous Recommendations and thence to specific stories.
I use LJ for most of my time wasting, though. I do more strategic hit surfing, like going to my own favorite sports site for times and tickets and news.
I'm thinking I'm going to be the only one in this thread with these sites. there are at least a couple of parents, besides you, who play on the top five lists. ludditerobot springs immediately to mind. so you might not be alone.
i could discuss my former ebay addiction here, but then i might be tempted to click that link, and i don't want to do that because i've broken my addiction, but man. yeah. i used to spend hours just fucking around on there, looking at junk. never buying, but still wasting loads of hours.
But will anyone else admit to the Kids WB? At least PBS has a pretense of quality...
I was safer before we had PayPal, since the sheer inconvenience of fooling about with a money order was enough to keep me from bidding most times. But I got burned a couple of times with burned cds, so I can usually remember to behave myself.
...please tell me you watch Liberty's Kids. That is the greatest kids' show in history. It is also possibly the only true guilty pleasure I have that I won't admit to anyone I know in person.
IMDB ranks at the top of my list as well.
