1. Carla D'Amico from the War for the Oaks by Emma Bull - we could talk music and she seems the most sensible of the lot. And if I'm lucky, Dan will join us for dinner and Edie and the Phouka could drop by for coffee and dessert.

2. Rupert Giles from Buffy:the Vampire Slayer - what you said. Witty, wise, learned ... happy sigh. We could talk mythology and conspiracy theory and the mysteries of American youth culture and the joys of the smells of paper. Not so much Wesley, since Giles seems to want to talk to someone, find someone to share with, and Wes was always more "See what I can do." in attitude.

3. Rawhide from Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension - because Perfect Tommy makes me shrug and Buckaroo's too out there, but Rawhide could tell stories and laugh with me. I probably should say Reno, since he is the storyteller, but I'm shallow and influenced by Clancy Brown's jawline.

4. Parsifal - I know I'm cheating, since I don't really want dinner with him, I just want to see the hall with ladies in white samite and the wounded king.

5. Sallah of the Indiana Jones movies. Another storyteller, gracious in his hospitality.

oh! oh, yes! completely! i can't believe i didn't think of that.

well, i can believe i didn't think of that, because it's totally random, but you're exactly right despite that. that would be wonderful, absolutely magical.

with the variety of people you've got on here, it's close to random.

I don't know half these fandoms.

(Except you do have to watch Highlander. Even the actor (Peter Wingfield) when asked about homoerotic subtext in an interview said something to the effect of, "You do watch the show, right?"

Electricity and joygasms and crotch shots and people falling to their knees once an episode and getting all hot and sweaty and swords immortality and ... and ... yeah.

And I understand the Duncan love, really I do, and I'm the first to admit he's pretty, but my heart belongs to Joe.
