I had really dirty dreams about teh girlfriend last night. ROWR.
Also I installed updates on my work PC because the little toolbar icon told me to, and now my computer sucks. More than usual. It's all slow scrolly and taking forever to do anything. Nnnngh. *HATE*
Anyway.
Today's Top 5 list is Top 5 Favorite Things About The Place You Live. And by Place I mean your city, town, region, neighborhood; not, like, your apartment or house or dorm room.
So.
My list:1. The Chicago Transit Authority. Because the busses and trains are safe and clean and reliable and convenient. Because you can get everywhere you want to go via public transportation, and I don't own a car. Because it's probably the best public transit system in the country.
2. Wrigley Field, lit up for a night game. Night games at Wrigley are wrong. Doesn't matter. The stadium is this perfect jewel sitting in the middle of a busy residential and commercial neighborhood when it's glowing against that late summer deep blue night sky, and it's fucking breathtaking.
3. The way Chicago has all the amenities of, say, a New York City, without the overwhelming enormous feel. It's a huge city that feels like a small town! Okay, feels like a smaller city. But you know what I mean.
4. The 3 Penny movie theater and the Davis movie theater. Because they're cheaper than any other theaters in the city and they show good movies and the 3 Penny serves these really amazing vodka and lemonade things and dear sweet Jesus, do they improve a movie, no matter how good it already was.
5. The big Borders on Michigan Avenue. Because I am shallow and I love books.
Honorable mentions to mornings when it's so foggy you can't see the top of the Sears Tower, the Lincoln Park Zoo, Emperor Daley ("GENUFLECT WHEN YOU SAY THAT!"), Konak's at Clark and Foster, all the sushi restaurants, Greektown, Clark & Belmont, the Goodman, the Steppenwolf, the Court, Chicago Shakes, having two baseball teams, Barack Obama, and the view from our back porch.
