So a brief review of what happened on Sunday...
In the morning we all woke up to say bye to my Texas relatives, who were going home. Then we all went back to bed, haha.
Then in the afternoon I drove to Annie's and we hung around for a little bit with Bubba and Ariel, then we drove to Judy and Brian's new condo on Parsons Blvd. Brian revamped it upon buying it and did a great job choosing floors, countertops, applicances, etc. He and I have similar taste apparently because I like dark lacquered furniture and marble, oakish colored cabinets, etc.... Very chic and modern. That is what my place would look like if we didn't have a big blonde dog, haha. Dark furniture + big blonde dog = not a good idea. Fortunately for them they have a little blonde Shih-tzu and not a Labrador, which shed 10x as much.
Anyway, Annie and I were taught how to play Rockband, which is a pretty cool game but too expensive for me and Sean to buy right now... plus the version for PS2 does not allow you to download new songs, which kind of sucks. Rumor has it that it will be out for Wii eventually, which I'm sure will give you that downloading option. Mayhap we'll wait for that. In the meantime, there's always Guitar Hero....
So we spent some time doing that and then we girls moseyed down the block to Picnic Garden, a Korean BBQ place on Northern Blvd. Basically an all-you-can-eat carnivore's dream.... buffet-style piles of raw meat for you to dump on a table grill in the center and cook. We ate a TON of pork, beef, chicken, rice, dumplings, salad, you name it. Sooooo good. Definitely expensive-ish but a place to remember to check out in the future nonetheless. Only thing is my clothes from that night definitely smell like BBQ.
Monday I didn't do much... Today I toured Atlantic Coast, which is a cute little facility on 454. Tonight I'm gonna see Erin for dinner! Yeeey. This afternoon is probably just gonna be laundry and catching up on Sudoku.... my kinda afternoon, considering the next year of my life is going to be nothing but clinics, clinics, clinics. So I'm allowed to be a loaf for a week, dammit.
I ran 4 mi yesterday in 37:01, pretty sweet. I'm gonna try and run tomorrow but I don't think I will do that same amount, probably half because it's gonna be in the afternoon and I'll have been dehydrated from not being able to drink as much as I'd like while I'm at LIVS.
Eating habits here at home are so funky... I had cereal this morning and then I came home and had some mozzerella cheese and a huge fruit smoothie. My mom just mentioned getting something for lunch (take out probably, ugh--- the only thing they EAT anymore is take out), and I probably could eat but I'm not hungry. I'll just wait til 6 when I meet Erin at Friday's. It's already 2 anyway.
And most importantly, todday is the official day that marks 4 weeks' worth of rest for Bentley, and now he can play and run again!!! After like 3 whole months of this, he is back in action. Poor B... this year was rough for him. First his back, then the two treatments of immiticide for his heartworms. Finally he is good to go.
Addendum: I finally decided it was time to begin anew, because clinics are starting in less than 2 weeks. I deleted and blocked the screen name of the subject of a few short (friends only) LJ entries previously, and already I feel better. They've already been removed from my MySpace and Facebook accounts, and this was the last thing I needed to do.... and I didn't do it for awhile, not because I wanted to be friends again (certainly not! After all that has happened, the damage they did is done), but that I was basically amused by their constant passive-aggressivity. But I removed them today, because I realized I can't be bothered. This person is dead to me, and I don't need their negativity or immaturity clouding my experience in clinical rotations.
daily stuff,
