In continuance to my rant about Ellen and the dog, it is unfortunate that the agency had that rule against families with children under 14 adopting a small dog. Age is just a number and there are many very mature under 14 year olds and very immature 14+ year olds. They should consider each home and family on an individual basis when screening their prospective adoptive parents, and not look at age. That family could have really made a suitable home for the dog, but they weren't even considered because of the age limit. Kind of silly, but still doesn't disregard the fact that Ellen should have read that little contract that went with the dog.
Anyway.
Lots of things ahead..... Paintball event in the middle of being organized... I have to make some calls to Cousins and determine details, but from the sound of it, there is a definite interest and I am pretty sure I can drum up at least 10 people to get a private field for us to play on. Woooord. I haven't been paintballing since high school (AP Bio vs. AP Physics) and it is so much freakin fun. I am so excited and I hope this event can actually happen!!!
We got an estimate on replacing our windows today... a better estimate than Sears had to offer, I tell ya. Waaaay cheaper. We are gonna get a storm door too, yey! That stuff's going to occur in the next month or so. What I'd also like to do is remove those scraggly bushes from outside our front door... they are half dead, and I hate this ugly crawling prickly shrub that's underneath our living room windows... sooo ugly, and half-dead as well. Since it's only going to get colder I am not sure about replacing the old bushes with new ones, since they'll probably die in the winter.... so I guess we could wait til spring to replace them with new ones, or flowers or something. I really like how some people have their flowers all pretty. I would like to do that too (though I'm not much of a gardener).
It would be nice to get our garage finally fixed too. I am really getting tired of how it won't close on its own without me pushing the button until it is completely shut.
Had Nic and Edgar over today for our regular Wednesday night dinner (a Mexican chicken casserole type thingie courtesy of Devra) and playdate. The boys wrestled and we watched some Top Model. Phil came by too and we had nummy blueberry cornbread, mmm. I tellya I think Wednesdays are the best-- we're out at 11 am, I can go and get my workout and running done early, I see Sean for a bit, then at night Nic and I hang out and watch TV and the boys do their thing... it's great. Wednesdays are right up there with Fridays (because that's the start of the weekend, duh) and Saturdays (because it is the weekend).
so uh..... 6 days... well about 5... until our first surgery. Scaaaaaaaaaaaary, man. Ah shit, I wanted to watch the derm and urinary technique videos tonight, I forgot. Alright maybe I'll do that now. Because I don't have to wake up early for a surgery midterm! I love auditing.
