Stuff.
1. I move in 6 days to a condo like a stone's throw away from Nicole and Philip. !!!! We truly are never going to get any work done. Ever.
2. In 5 days, my parents are flying out to Columbus with Sean. So I get to see them again, which is always amusing (they're loud, they're Italian, and they "yell" at each other 99% of the time, meaning good-natured bickering at the top of their lungs). Sometimes they're cute, they went grocery shopping together yesterday and my dad bought my mom's plane ticket online last minute for an exorbitant (sp?) amount of money, but said it was okay because "he loves her". And yes, of course it will be good to see Sean. But that really goes without saying. But I'm saying it anyway.
3. I look around my apt and there are still lots of the "last-minute" type things to be packed. Like my schoolbooks for this quarter, all the cleaning stuff from my storage cabinet (but I am not sure about packing those yet because we'll need to clean here as well as the floors at the new place), and other stuff.
4. I was surprisingly productive yesterday. I got tons of Parasitology done for this week and next (though I still need to add some stuff to my ever-growing parasite chart) because the only thing I plan on doing next weekend is studying for Derm. I did my sutures too, whoohoo. Today I plan on studying for Derm mostly, and if there's time, I may work on Parasitology.
5. Tomorrow Time Warner installs the cable and internet at the new place. Plus I get a fridge installed (yey because it uh, didn't have one yet). So I basically get out of class at 2, do a quick gym run, and then take the TV, laptop, and assorted things (modem, cable box) to the new place. I'll also be removing the builder's lock and taking the keys inside (holy shit)! SO excited. Once everything is moved in and settled.... we are so getting a dog.
6. A dog, yes. We /intend/ to get a dog that's slightly older--- 2-3 perhaps--- and one that has a laid-back personality and won't stress Slinky. One that will hopefully pretty much ignore Slinky because that's really the kind of dog that he does best with. That's the way Raven is at home, she can't be bothered with him and that's the way we like it. We'd also like the dog to uh, not have separation anxiety. So basically one that has an independent side to him. And it really should be a boy. Raven will get along better with a laid-back, older boy. I really love the look of Shepherd mixes, but Shepherds, according to Dr. Ott, can have separation anxiety. Maybe a big ol' goofy Lab. You can't go wrong with a Lab. They may get hip things and knee things (both of which Raven has), but their personalities are just so great. We'll see. I keep looking at the Franklin County website, and they have a couple of dogs I'm eyeing. There's a lady in puppy class who volunteers there, so when the time comes, I'd like to ask her if she knows of any cat-friendly, non-separation anxiety adult male dogs that she'd like to give a forever home. :)
7. Ah, puppy class. EIGHT ADORABLE PUPPIES. Talk about puppy heaven. And they're all big dogs, and I am partial to big dogs with big paws. Sean, you better get out here quick so you can experience the puppyness!
8. Oh yeah, another countdown. In a month from Friday, Sean graduates from Farmingdale! Holy crappppp. I remember when he was applying, it's so funny how fast time goes. I'm flying home that weekend to see him walk.
9. Haha, Slinky is enjoying having all these boxes in the apt to climb around on and hide behind. Yesterday he got into a tiny Staples box and rummaged around in there for a bit, repeatedly poking his head over the lid to look at me. I swear, WEIRDEST CAT EVER.
10. Oh! My research poster presentation? Yeah done. :) Thank God, what a pain in the ass. I HATE talking in public, and I hate talking about my research in public, because I'm scared that I am going to get asked a question that I don't know the answer to. I sort of was, and now that i think about it I think I totally answered the question wrong. But oh well. Too late now.
Well that's a wrap for now. I'm off to the gym. The next few weeks promise to be.... uh.... chaotic.
