I thought I would recommend a book to those of you who are dog owners or plan to be dog owners in the future. Lots of you already have dogs, and a couple of you either just got one or are getting one soon. It's called "The Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson. It is about understanding the human-dog relationship--- perhaps in a slightly different view than what most people know, and clarifies a lot of misconceptions about dogs, their ability to learn, training in general, and lots more. I'm working on it right now and it's quite good. It provides present and future dog owners with current and applicable information on dog-human interaction and training, and dispels any myths and outdated (and often inhumane) ways of getting a dog to do what you want..... because there is definitely a plethora of "bad" resources out there.
Check it out-- it's funny too, and will keep you reading (ie: it's not your average boring non-fiction how-to book). :)
