I had a weird feeling about Lucrezia's first night since the beginning, and I KNEW something bad was going to happen ugh. I just hope they won't show anymore "rape" scenes :/ there were so many in the latest episode.
Daenerys and Drogo seem okay already! Good for her (:

Thank you so much ♥

Problem is I don't even know if Giovanni being violent is historically correct :/ A friend who's read a Lucrezia biography says that he was impotent and they weren't even sure the marriage was actually "consumed" in the first place o_O
And the same thing applies to Game of Thrones, I've heard that in the book it wasn't as bad as in the show. So I really don't know :/

It'd be interesting to know which sources the show is using or if they're just making stuff up for the sake of drama. In the Italian Wikipedia article it says the marriage was never actually "consummated", and that the Pope even tried to convince Giovanni to get things done. But it could be as you said, so... I've no idea.

At the very least, we shouldn't be put through this nonsense. If I never have to see another storyline with "girl rises above rape tragedy to greatness" again, I'll be happy.

THIS. SO MUCH.

I made a post about the historical accuracy of rape in The Borgias you might find interesting.
