Work today was....meh....i got in and asked why i was working tomorrow when i had requested the day off....or else a short shift and i got told that basically they thought that i was unhappy there and that it was obvious that i wanted to be elsewhere. I didn't even get a chance to explain that i wasn't asked to stay for the extratime yesterday, that i was told it. Nevermind the fact that I work OT almost every single shift that I have....argh!!
Other than that, I have been talking to a family in Newfoundland and am trying to set up and interview with them sometime between now and well, tomorrow when i leave. Like that's going to happen. I have to pack and do laundry and a billion other things that i was planning on doing tomorrow during my day off.... *mutters something that involves a lot of four-letter words* Today is September 19 and in about 30 hours i am being picked up by the airport shuttle!! Oh yeah, and here is today's joke:
This is the actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995. Radio conversation released by the chief of naval operations, 10-10-95.
CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.
CANADIANS: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
CANADIANS: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.
AMERICANS: This is the Aircraft Carrier US LINCOLN, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied with three Destroyers, three Cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course 15 degrees north. I say again, that's one-five degrees north, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
CANADIANS: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
see you tomorrow!
