Smartphone Dilemma

Nov 26, 2009 15:01

Hmmm, can upgrade my phone on Monday, and I know that I want a Smartphone of some kind - I just can't decide which one....

My requirements are:-

1. Reasonable battery life - must last at least a day (plan to turn off unnecessary functions such as bluetooth and WiFi when not in use).
2. Email push capability (not a total deal breaker, but I'd prefer it)
3. Built in GPS
4. HSDPA capable
5. Reasonably good range of apps available for download

Now I can't decide between touch screen, or QWERTY keyboard ones....

Shortlist seems to be between some kind of Blackberry, one of the HTCs, a Nokia E72 or an iPhone (which originally would have been ruled out due to me being on Vodaphone, but of course now everyone will be doing them).

I seem to be in that situation where if I find a phone that I think has almost everything, there appears to be a downside, which another phone covers, but then it lacks something.

Part of the problem is trying to find a phone available for not too much upgrade cost, that is also available on a £25 a month or under tariff. I think I'm just gonna have to speak to the upgrades people at Voda to see what deals they'll do me I guess.....

Anyone with particularly good or bad experiences with these types of phones?

My main uses will probably be emailing, IM, facebook, twitter, locating things (via maps etc) and looking stuff up on the internet. I don't make a huge number of voice calls on my mobile.
