thing that happened to me this morning

I was walking to work and a guy got off the bus and said to me: "I saw you from the bus and just have to tell you that I think your coat is the BOMB!" and I was all legitimately "thank you" and smiled and was all "wow, I have not heard that phrase since the 80s"

(It was my purple polka-dot raincoat, for those of you who saw me at Muskrat last time.)

And it was definitely a better commute experience than yesterday, when I was hit in the head six separate times by people's backpacks and NOBODY APOLOGIZED.
