Many Tiny Things Make a Post

+ On Sunday when I went to get my coffee, I had to wear a jacket. Today it's supposed to be 100 degrees. On Sunday when I go to get my coffee, I will probably need to wear a jacket. Who let Mother Nature back on the crack? (We are currently having an 8am thunderstorm.)

+ Because it's so effing hot, I am reading "The Magnetic North: Notes from the Arctic Circle" in the hopes that Thinking Cool = Being Cool. My favorite sentence so far is "The Arctic attracts fiction to its facts with remorseless zeal." ("I KNEW IT!" "I never claimed otherwise, Ray.")

+ The Bruins in the Stanley Cup playoffs is turning me into the same Superstitious OCD Person that the Sox did in 2004. I now have to listen to all the rest of the games on the radio -- even though the rest of the games are televised on a channel I get, unlike the two just played in which the BRUINS KICKED ASS -- and wear a certain outfit and eat and drink certain things and sit a certain way because otherwise if they lose it's my fault. (One of my mailroom guys has bought every citronella candle he can find because he was sitting outside listening to Monday's game and every time he lit a new candle the Bruins scored, so at least it's not just me.)

+ Actually, I sort of prefer listening to the Bruins on the radio because if I keep grinding my teeth every time the NBC guys mispronounce "Milan Lucic" I will not have any teeth left. (I think Boston is just spoiled for really good local sports announcers and whenever it's a nationally televised game with other announcers I just can't deal.) (If it's a baseball game on Fox called by Tim McCarver, I automatically mute it and put the local radio announcers on, which is a fun game I like to call "Psychic Baseball" because the radio is always a few seconds ahead of the pictures on tv.)

+ There is no fifth thing.

boston rules, omg celli's fictional people are having , ds, bruins, life
