Upgrades, Interviews, Sneakers... Lots of Newness!

May 31, 2008 00:51

Well, I talked it over with Mom, since we have a joint bank account (I couldn't get one because I had screwed my credit up when I first moved down here, so once that had cleared up, she added me to hers so in case something happens, I can take care of things). I'll upgrade to Paid once I get paid, unless we can swing it earlier - we'll see how finances are after the big grocery shopping, rent, her student loan, and some meds go. Since LJ's new policies look promising (including the fact that they explained why they made the decisions they made), LJ Inc. may be finally learning from the past. We'll see. In any case, expect a massive userpic upload once that happens (and, yes, it'll pretty much all be RUN&GUN and AirMyu userpics, because I just can't resist the pretty). (g)

Speaking of upgrades, you might notice the little picture in my blurb over on the right. I've pledged to download Firefox 3 on Download Day 2008 (hey, I already download a copy of the latest nightly every week as a backup, in case the upgrade harfs). Click on the picture for more details on joining in setting a new Guiness record for most downloads of a software in a day (and then read more info on Spread Firefox's efforts)! Besides, how can you resist Foxkeh's cuteness?

RUN&GUN blog entry of the week: Yuya's new sneakers. You know, considering that those look like girl's sneakers, Yuya, it's no wonder you got hit on by that random gay guy in NYC. (g)

(Side note: why do I keep forgetting the end quotes in my anchor tags tonight??? I think I've fixed this post at least 4 times now...)

They finally scheduled interviews for the Library Assistant II job at my branch for next Wednesday. I've got one first thing in the morning (which is good, since I wasn't scheduled to be on the desk that hour, according to the schedule I got in my work email today), so wish me luck! (crosses fingers) Of course, really wish me luck that I survive Summer Reading, the busiest time of the year at work, where we will check out an item every 15 seconds, if we're on par with the previous year's stats (someone actually calculated it one year). It felt like it has already started, since we were slammed on Thursday. I swear that people know when we're short handed, and all decide that's the time to come in. (g)
