We are officially the weakest human beings in history! :)
This adorable little kitten was meowing at Brandy's door late Friday night, so we let him come in and play a little. We named him Fineous Taco (well, Brandy named him) and had way too much fun playing with him. He is absolutely precious and way too young to be outside, but we put him out for the night, since it was after 4am already and we weren't in any condition to make him inside-able at the time. We were gone all day Saturday, but then as we were leaving this morning (Sunday) we happened to see the kitty again (Jason hadn't seen him yet--his bottom lip started quivering!) and then our neighbor walked out of her house. I asked if the kitty was hers, and she said yes, but they had to put him out because he was too rough for their 2 yr old daughter. Now, I think it is stupid for anyone to think a teeny kitten is the right pet for such a small child. Of COURSE the kitten is going to scratch and bite--that is what they do for fun. Geh. Anyway, she said she really didn't know what to do with him and we were welcome to him. Big mistake.
So after our trip to Macon, we waited til she was home and talked to her some more. It turned out she was serious, and so we now have this wonderful wonderful little playful kitten!
We've been fighting like crazy to rid him of fleas (I can't believe how many fleas were on such a small kitty!) and ear mites and everything else, and due to the amazing amount of fleas, we have him in the bathroom currently, but we are on our way to a 3rd healthy kitten. I don't even think it is going to be that horrible to break him into the family of cats. Before making any final decisions, we brought him up here and first put him in a room with Laz. Laz just followed him around for a bit sniffing. Taco hissed some, which was adorable, but that is about it. Then, we replaced Laz with Lain and it got a little more interesting, but not much. Lain hissed 2 times, but she didn't try to kill him immediately, and only twice isn't bad at all for her. We are hoping there is enough of an age difference that she will try to mother him--he looks to be about 8 weeks old, from what I hear.
Anyway, being a mommy is exhausting--I'm going to bed. But YAY! we have cats :)
