a world without typewriters

as those of you who are also friends with me on FACEBOOK know, I got my hands on a copy of the RE5 demo. Here's the low-down:

Controls: The default controls are really quiet terrible. they are confusing and way more complicated than RE4's. I'd suggest (When you get the demo or when you get the game) switching to control type A (the default is D) which is more or less the same as the PS2 controls for RE4 (except on the 360). here are the type A controls:
L=Equip Knife
LB=Locate Partner
R=Equip Weapons (Pistol, shotgun, SMG, etc.)
RB=Bring up on-screen map/see partner's sub-screen (after pressing Y)
RS=Movement
D-PAD UP=Equip pistol
D-PAD LEFT=Equip secondary weapon (Shotgun, SMG, Rifel,etc.)
D-PAD DOWN=Equip Herb
D-PAD RIGHT=Equip Ammo (to give to partner)
A=run (HOLD WHILE PRESSING UP ON RS) and 180 turn (Press while moving RS back) reload (Press while holding R)
X=Examine/Open/Attack (straight, Uppercut actions) fire (While holding R) Swing knife (While holding L)
Y=Bring up Sub-screen (Note: like PS2's RE:Outbreak, this action does not pause the game)
B=Call Partner/Help partner/two-person event
LS=Change Camera angle
Start=Pause game
Back=Skip cut-scene

and there you have it, folks. ONWARD!
Enemies: The Ganados in RE5 are considerably more aggressive than RE4's bumbling Spaniards, Attacking you with everything they've got, which is (so far) a considerably larger arsenal than in RE4 as well. although the AI wasn't great, it should be pointed out, it was a demo. but man, they really try hard to kill you (an action that doesn't come easy with the two-people thing, seeing as how if you reach the danger zone, Sheva will automatically spray you down with whatever health item she has). The "Boss Ganados" (Like the big ax-guy from the trailer and the new Dr. Salvidor) are considerably more difficult to put down this time around (although if you make excessive use of Chris' bad-ass "Straight" and "Upper-cut" punches, they go down faster without using as much ammo) and they both deal considerable damage (The ax-guy is a two hit kill, and Dr. Salvador is generally a one hit kill, but he will occasionally opp to just beat you down with the handle of the chain-saw rather than cut your head off, which he actually doesn't do, since your head no longer comes off like in RE4). best news though: You and Sheva can't deal Friendly-fire, but the ganados can!

Map: Still maze-like like in re4, but now it works real well with the combination of the beautiful and seamless XBOX graphics, and the awesome new physics engine that was added. I'm still not sure what the deal is with "the enviroment trying to kill you" stuff. if it's still in the game, it wasn't in the demo. Chris' idol animation has him getting the sweat off his brow, but other than that there was no ther indication that the sun was getting to you.

and that's really all I got for now. I might learn more if as I play through the demo more, but for now you'll have to contend with that info. later, folks!
