Dead Rising: Suck 'Til You Stop Selling

holy cow i was excited when i heard that Capcom's ultra LEET zombie chop-em-up game was being ported to the Nintendo Wii, but now i'm not so sure. a recent interview with the producer in Nintendo Power showed just how much they are doing to the game. admitably, they are fixing problems (Better Save system, larger text) but the amount of stuff that they are changing is downright unfair. the previously optional "Overtime" mode is now part of the main game so that you can quote: "experiance the entire story by simply playing the game once". they have also removed the photography mini-games from it (which really pisses me off since the opening where you take pictures out the door of the helicopter into the zombie apocolypse below was one of my absolute favorite things about the origanal game) which is odd considering that taking pictures is the protaganist's (Frank West) motovation. also, the game is being graphicaly dulled-down, and is now running on the Gamecube Resident Evil 4 graphics engine. also, the combat has been changed to macth the RE4 Wii Edition controls (hold the trigger, point and then fire with A) even the targeting reticale used (so far) is the same one from RE4 Wii edition! apparently they are adding some new weapons, costumes and food-combo-powerup's, but thats not enough to substatiate the amount of stuff they've done to the game. since i'm saving up to buy a 360,i'm afraid that Dead Rising:Chop Til You Drop is'nt going to be grasing my shelf this holiday season for it's december 31st release.

in other blah news, IMDB has confermed that the voices of Claire Redfeild and Leon Kennedy are going to be returning from Code: VeronicaX and RE4 for next year's Resident Evil: Degeneration CG feature. the video i posted last time confermed that it will actually be tying into Resident Evil 4 and 5's storylines.i find it odd, considering Degeneration is taking place in 2005, while Resident Evil 5 is taking place in 2009. weird. hopefully both while offer some insight into WTF is happening in Wii's bastardized "Umbrella Chronicals". probubly not. RE5 is promising some big things (especialy after Wesker refers to it as "The final act of this drama" at the end of "Umbrella Chronicals") what with the revealation of Umbrella's mysterious PROGENTITOR virus' origins, and the mysteriously untouched on Sherry Birkin, who's eyes were featured in the 2007 E3 trailer. also, it will probubly feature explinations for several other things, as well as what Wesker's true intentions are. hopefully RE5 or Degeneration will reveal more about S Corporation (referd to in part five of RE4's "ADA'S REPORT"). who knows? oh and... weird thing! i looked up the credits for RE5 today, and was surprised to see listed in the credits Leon Kennedy, Albert Wesker, and the merchant! none are returning voices, but i'm a little baffled that Leon is gonna be in it. admitably, two years ago, IMDB said that Billy Cohen and Lord Saddler were going to be in it too, but still...

currently i'm torn between wether i should get "DEAD RISING", "F.E.A.R." or "THE ORANGE BOX" as my first 360 game. obviously, Orange Box features more content, but do i really feal like playing a year's worth of Half-Life2 games and spin-off's untill RE5 comes out? meh... obviously i won't have an internet connection for the 360, so that cancels out any reason for playing "Team Fortress 2" as well. GRR.... oh well. i'll call you guys up and ask. hrmph.
