flush mounting advice

Photogeeky question:Does anyone have experience with flush mounting on foamcore versus gator board? I'm going to have 4- 11x14 and 5- 8.5x11 pieces ( Read more... )

We're flush mounting them and sticking them on the wall - so that they have no borders/frames.

how are you sticking them to the wall?

one thing to think about re foamcore is that the foam shows around the edges. and I'd be concerned about permanently afixing photos to cheaper materials, cause that's just the way I am.

I can't remember what my friend Aurora said she uses but I'm assuming she has a plan for sticking them to the wall. I will ask her.

I'm really not into the idea of foamcore because I hate the way it looks, but it might not be so bad if I could get some thin foamcore? I don't know.

What do you think about mat board?

8-ply rag wouldn't be too cheap, but it would at least be archival and sturdier than a lesser ply. but if you're using like a double stick foam tape or something to put it on the wall, it might be enough to hold up 4-ply without any warping issues

I'll probably either have them put a hook on the back or use some adhesive squares that Aurora recommended to me.
