chai lovin' honky tonk

One of my new loves: David Rio Tiger Spice chai.

I had this chai at a fancy cafe in Palo Alto while I was petsitting for Biz and Livia, and fell in love. Not too long ago, I went to Cafe XOXO on Church & 30th with alisasf, and instantly recognized the chai I ordered as the same chai from Palo Alto. To my tea-loving glee, I discovered they sold cans of the chai. Now, I know what you're thinking - powdered chai? - and I hear you. I had powdered chai on the East Coast last year while we were in Boston and it was unstomachable. I took two sips and threw it away. But this is actually tasty and has spice. It's sweet and rich, which makes it a "dessert chai" in my book, but the fact that it comes in powder can actually be nice, since my Oregon chai often goes bad in the carton.

One thing, though, is that at both cafes I ordered a soy chai. This chai has a bit of dairy creamer already mixed in. Good thing I'm not vegan, eh?

Drinking this chai makes me want fall. It's a little sad to think that it will be another year before I get to experience that season again. But then, I should enjoy these 70 degree November days while I can.
