i found out as of yesterday, i've meet my 160 hrs. required for my internship. I'm going to continue working for about two or three more weeks, as I had already committed myself to some stories that won't run until the beginning of August. i was very glad to have a short day, but wasn't feeling good and slept for a couple of hours when i got home. after waking up and talking to my parents briefly, i had the house to myself and chose to do some reading for fun. around 6 p.m., I decided I wanted to get some fresh air and read outside, so I drove to Glen Oak, where I continued reading for a few hours, before going for a walk and then watching Citizen Kane at the amphitheater. i took my cowboy hat with me and wore it while i was wondering around the park. met up with my friend Jay and had a drink at Mulligan's, which was the first time i'd ever been there. I find myself counting down til I go back down to Carbondale. Can't wait, just a week and a half away. After spending most of my days indoors, it was so wonderful to be outside on a cool evening, not to mention peaceful and relaxing. Definitely forgot how little time i've been spending outside and how much i've missed it. Thurs afternoon, I get to interview a Washington h.s. teacher i've interviewed for another story I did and I am looking forward to seeing her again. The weekends are all I find myself looking forward to lately and I haven't really done much even then. Hopefully I will find something fun to do this weekend, even if all I do is hang out with Preston.
