So yesterday was election day for me here in Canada. Now I hate politics, but I am usually a responsible voter. This election was the most ridiculous farce of an election ever. I really didn't know who to vote for because, in my opinion, all the candidates were lacking in one area or another. I won't bother to list the faults of each party because they are lengthy and not very interesting. I just didn't feel that anyone deserved my vote, so I refused to go put in my ballot.
The results are in, and as predicted, the Liberals managed to retain their authority with a minority win. This means that they'll need support from opposition such as the NDPs and maybe even The Bloc to govern. I'm usually a Liberal supporter, so I suppose I'm pleased that the Liberals managed to scrape by, but I really think that this election has sent them a message. Hopefully Paul Martin will keep his promises this time around.
