Midterms are done!

Now I can finally go see 300... or The Host... or TMNT... :-)

I'm going to Stinko's tomorrow to sign the last of the paperwork and finalize my schedule.  Oh boy.

Yipes! Beware: 300 turns the ancient Spartans vs. Persians battle into an ill-concealed metaphor for the Iraq War and Good!West vs. Wicked!Islam. Whathisname, the famous artist who did the original graphic novel (and Sin City, which I loved) is a neocon nutcase a la Ann Coulter. Warning, Will Robinson. CODE RED EVIL ALERT.

The Host, on the other hand, sounds fabulous. It's on my short list of movies I must see while they're still in theaters.

heh. Yeah, I am basically seeing 300 for the fact that it is big and on a big screen. When I first heard about it, I checked out the GN from the library. I skimmed it, but never really read it... not very enticing to me. I think Frank Miller does a great job with Batman, but that's about it. I actually had an autographed The Dark Knight Returns... I think I gave it to someone... Anyway, I didn't really like Sin City, though I thought the way it was made was visually stimulating. That's what I'm going to 300 for, eye candy.

I think The Host will be much better.

...and I was just kidding about TMNT!
