We almost never watch comedies. It's just one of those things. Most of the comedies out there just irritate me. Or they are fake comedies, like Click, which try to put some sappy moral into the story. *blech* But tonight we threw caution to the wind, picked up a pizza on the way home, and popped Borat into the DVD player. It's pretty funny. Totally offensive at times, goofy at others, but overall it was a fun ride. I probably wouldn't watch it again, though... one time is definitely enough for me. I suppose part of the entertainment value of the film is wondering what the hell he is going to say and do next. The moments that are not as rehersed are the best. There are some pretty funny parts that were cut from the film in the "Censored" section.
I wouldn't have nominated it for an Adapted Screenplay Oscar, but that's just me.
Oh, and the pizza was good. Good ol' Round Table.
On a completely different note, I got a message yesterday from the manager of Stinko's. Apparently the lab that took my drug testing sample somehow lost or dropped or flushed my sample and now I have to do it again. Okay people, I haven't done any interesting drugs since god-knows-when... give it a rest already! So, Monday will NOT be my first day back at work, it will be my first day back in the pee sample room. *doh*
Well, it's probably better that I'm not starting next week anyway, since both my midterms are next week. One will be pretty easy, just a lot of writing, and the other I actually have to study for. Um, I have like three weeks of homework reading that I didn't do. What have I been doing? Oh, yeah, watching silly movies!
