I can't believe it.
I took the day off to help M celebrate her birthday and look what happens... I'm sick again. This is ridiculous. I am now convinced that this semester is trying to kill me and destroy all the things I love. (I have been reading some comic books while lying in bed.) Thankfully, M doesn't mind having a healthy bowl of soup for her birthday dinner and is fine with a rain check for the dining experience of her choice sometime in the future.
At the moment I am feeling somewhat lucid so I will comment on the two books I just finished reading:
Final Crisis: Revelations #3Secret Six #2
I'm enjoying both, but it's a little weird with the whole God vs. evil thing in Revelations. At least God personally saved the lesbian hero Renee Montoya/The Question to be human-kind's last chance for survival against Darkseid! Yay. On the other had, I am oddly drawn to the Secret Six which is a gang of mercenaries (not usually my kind of thing), with - as it happens - a lesbian leader. (DC is just TEEMING with girl-on-girl action these days!) The bad-guys as heroes is something that I'm still trying to get used to, but the writing (Gail Simone) and the artwork (Nicola Scott) is very, very good. Just look at the first page of SS #2 -->
