We interrupt this NYC travelogue for a not so very important message...
I just saw Casshern (2004) a live action film based on a 1970s anime about neo-humans, war, and robots. Let's just say that, although it's not that bad, the plot doesn't matter. The visuals are enough to carry the film and I so wish that I didn't have to watch it on my 15" PowerBook screen, but such is life.
I have been waiting to see this movie for four years and now that I've seen it, I wonder why it had such a limited release in the US. I think this is the best anime-brought-to-life film I've seen and I really do believe that it is up there with greats like Akira.
