the idea that theres one person for everyone in the world is rediculous. i mean seriously, theres like 6 billion people in the world, to think that only one person is out there that will make you truly happy is an insult to the human race and free will.....i don't know what i mean by this or why i'm writing it, but i am and you're reading it, which ( Read more... )

Further still, what about miscarriage? Abortion? Death at a young age? Did they have a designated "one" (as we're told we all do)? What happens for those partner-less individuals roaming the earth? Do they then match up with other rejects? No, I don't believe in that concept, either. I do believe, however, that you probably will, within your life time, eventually find someone that is reasonably suited to who you are and what you feel. The concept of "the one" should only extend to the point whereby most people stop looking once they've found a life partner. Many remarry after the death of a spouse.. I think "the one" is whoever you want it to be.

I hope you're doing well. Take care.

This is probably stupid, but what if the person who was killed/died etc etc, WAS meant to be with one of those people who roam the Earth all alone with no partner? =/

I don't think that's stupid at all :)

I don't even think there is a right or wrong answer, whatever you believe is only as true as your mental capacity allows.

My original point was just paying testament to the fact that I, like mindlessblur, don't believe in that concept in any way, shape, or form. Of course I'm completely open to suggestions otherwise, and am not willing to state that one side is wrong or right. I am just incapable of believing that our fates are pre-determined, and that extends to soul mates and the supposed "one ( ... )

Oh - And by the way, I had an encounter with alawa on a Melbourne community who recognised my user name from tacomonkey's journal and thought it strange that I had you on my friend's list, too. That's amazing. I was going to mention this before but forgot.

Ok! Cool!
But, what IF!! someone married the WRONG person!!!
What if their New partner was actually that ONE they were meant to be with?

Dear god, this is getting into a bunch of "but what if this and this happened"
=/

Yep, that pretty much sums up this thread *grins* But, you know, that's all you can do. There's no evidence or data, and in a scientifically based society, no one truth or fact. If that's what you genuinely believe, then don't let any shallow, closed minded fool such as myself change your mind for you! I wish I could believe in cool things like fate and pre-determined events, but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles..
