scatterbrain. 2nd edit.

ink-stained,
        scatterbrained
      pin needle tattoos
  gleam headlit
backseat zipper blues   
   those concrete
    sidewalk dreams
 stutter a shade of
    black and blue
  where we buried her

rainclouds in the summer
 shimmer shine
     when we buried her
  swallowed her up
 one more glass
         black water whiskey
  quivers
beneath the dunes

varnish tongues of
 dead dogs that scream
    what it was
     maggot-eyed stare
   empty bottle grin
      paper and words
 and the emperor's new digs
      and
  dead dog's tongues
wag
   loll in october greys
            red leaves falling
     rainclouds in the summer
black and blue
  brown and rot where we buried her
           Friday morning digging
    bones and eyes and tongues and
      six-feet down on the dunes
 glass whiskey gold

swallowed her up under the dunes
